What options do I have to keep the sun off my patio and out of my manor?


What should I do before I hire a contractor to perform an alteration?


I hired a contractor who was listed on the Contractor Referrals list obtained from the Permits and Inspections Office. Now, I am having problems with the contractor. What can I do?
The Contractor Referral list was compiled in an effort to assist Laguna Woods Village residents in locating a contractor and includes contractors who have performed services for Members of the Community.  These are REFERRALS and NOT RECOMMENDATIONS. Order of appearance is alphabetical and not preferential. As stated on the cover page of the Contractor Referral list, the Housing Corporations are not a party to any contract between the Member and the Member’s chosen contractor and cannot intervene on the Member’s behalf should difficulties be encountered.  Members 
are always urged to verify a contractor’s status with the Contractors State License Board (CLSB).  
 
In the event that you are having difficulty with your contractor, you may file a complaint with the Contractor’s State License Board (CSLB) by calling 1-800-321-2752 or visiting their website: www.cslb.ca.gov. The website provides a wealth of information including How the Complaint Process Works, File a Complaint, and After You File Your Complaint. 
 
You may also file a complaint with the local area Better Business Bureau, serving Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties by calling 909-825-7280 or visiting their website: www.labbb.org.


My air conditioner is original; why won't you work on it?
