Hide it, Lock it, or Lose it: Golf Cart Key Edition

The City of Laguna Woods has the lowest crime rate of any city in Orange County. But, that doesn’t mean its citizens are immune from petty crime. Just last week, two golf carts were stolen by individuals in the Village. Fortunately, the golf carts were recovered quickly and returned to the owners thanks to vigilant actions of residents, Village Security, and the OC Sheriff.

Remember: do not leave your keys in your golf cart! A  petty  criminal  looks  for  an  easy  target, and  in  the  Village, these   opportunities   are   found   in   the   form   of   an   unlocked car, unsecure carport cabinet, and unattended property. When items are left unsecured, it only takes a thief a few seconds to “grab and go,” and your valuables may be gone forever.

Please see Chief Moy’s Quarter 4 publication, “Hide it, Lock it, or Lose It,” for more tips on protecting yourself and your property.
